Our Story
BigBuzz, started by Kevin Kelly (BigBuzz President and CEO) during the mid 1990s, began as an extension of Mr. Kelly's highly successful recording studio. After a years worth of planning and assistance from his business partners, BigBuzz became incorporated in December of 1998.
The first of many major milestones for BigBuzz occurred in January of 1999 when BigBuzz moved into its new home of 500 square feet in Plainview and began laying the foundation for BigBuzz's future. With BigBuzz's team of seasoned veterans expansion was rapid signing DreamWorks Records to a website development contract for one of their newest recording artist, and commencing work on several new web based applications and propriety products.
Within May of 1999, BigBuzz took over 1800 square feet of space within the same office complex. Over the next several years, BigBuzz growth remained consistent with the addition of key personnel and the development of strategic alliances. With their creative design initiatives and outstanding programming efforts, the list of BigBuzz clients continued to expand at an impressive rate through word of mouth referrals and recommendations. In July of 2002, BigBuzz completed yet another office expansion includingoffice renovations and the addition of a lounge area reserved for BigBuzz Clientele.
In September of 2002 BigBuzz was successful in being selected as BASF Corporation's vendor of choice to redesign and launch their new plastic portal web application. As part of their recognition for outstanding work, BigBuzz was invited to speak at Long Island Flash Users Group, the 3rd largest Macromedia group in the world. Over the next several months, in continued recognition for their outstanding achievements, BigBuzz received Flash Forward Nomination for 3d work on BASF's Virtual Vehicle and numerous BOLI Awards including Best in Category.
In April of 2005, BigBuzz moved into its new 2,500 square foot corporate facility. In the summer of 2005, BigBuzz's list of accolades continued with several new BOLI awards to their credit. As 2005 neared to an end, BigBuzz began to lay groundwork for expansion into other regions of the United States with a target on opening a regional office in North Carolina in the summer of 2006.
